The journal covers community service and empowerment activities in the fields of public health, medicine, nursing, midwifery, and other health professions. Submissions must be written in Indonesian with an English abstract and will undergo a review process for publication. Shihatuna: Jurnal Pengabdian Kesehatan Masyarakat welcomes manuscripts reporting community health service activities that are systematically designed, implemented, and evaluated. The scope includes:
- Reports on the implementation of community-based health education and promotion programs (counseling, training, health talks) accompanied by outcome evaluation (pre-post tests, behavioral observation, or other measurable health indicators).
- Reports on community health screening/early detection programs, covering both communicable and non-communicable diseases.
- Community empowerment programs grounded in local wisdom, Islamic values, or specific geographic contexts (e.g., coastal areas), with clearly defined success indicators.
- Development and validation of simple instruments to support the evaluation of community service activities (e.g., knowledge/attitude questionnaires).
- Models of cross-sectoral partnership and collaboration (Puskesmas/community health centers, health cadres, village/hamlet governments, universities) in the implementation of community health activities.
Manuscripts are expected to describe in detail the activity design, target population/subjects, implementation procedures, evaluation instruments, and a measurable analysis of program impact — both quantitative and qualitative — so as to provide contributions that can be replicated by other community service practitioners.
Shihatuna does not accept manuscripts reporting purely primary research without a community service/empowerment component (e.g., clinical trials, basic laboratory research); such manuscripts are better directed to specialized health research journals. It is highly recommended that authors use citation management applications such as Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, and the like.
Shihatuna : Jurnal Pengabdian Kesehatan Masyarakat has been accredited SINTA 5 (TERAKREDITASI SINTA 5 ) based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology Number 10/C/C3/DT.05.00/2025 dated March 21, 2025, regarding the Scientific Journal Accreditation Rank Period I Year 2025.
