Peer Review Process
Review Process and Editorial Decisions
Each manuscript submitted to the International Journal on Language, Research, and Education Studies will undergo a thorough review by at least two independent reviewers. The outcomes of these reviews will be made public only after receiving approval from the editorial board.
Role of Peer Review in Editorial Decisions
Peer review plays a crucial role in assisting the editor in making informed editorial decisions. Additionally, through communication with the author, the peer review process can contribute to the improvement of the manuscript.
Timeliness
Reviewers who believe they are not qualified to assess a particular manuscript or are unable to provide a prompt review should inform the editor and excuse themselves from the review process.
Confidentiality
All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential. Reviewers are prohibited from sharing or discussing the manuscript with others unless explicitly authorized by the editor.
Objectivity in Reviews
Reviews should be conducted with a high degree of objectivity. Personal attacks on the author are unacceptable. Reviewers are expected to clearly articulate their views, supported by well-founded arguments.
Citing Relevant Sources
Reviewers are encouraged to point out any important works that the authors may have overlooked. If a reviewer identifies that an idea, conclusion, or argument has been previously published, they should ensure it is properly cited. Moreover, if a manuscript shows substantial similarity or overlap with any other published work the reviewer is aware of, it should be reported to the editor.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Any confidential information or ideas acquired during the peer review process must be kept confidential and should not be used for personal gain. Reviewers must refrain from reviewing manuscripts where they have conflicts of interest, whether due to competitive, collaborative, or other professional relationships with the authors, organizations, or institutions involved in the paper.
