Author Guidelines

General Information
Thawalib: Jurnal Kependidikan Islam is a scientific journal that publishes high-quality research articles, literature reviews, and technical notes in the field of Islamic education. This journal aims to disseminate innovative and significant intellectual contributions to the academic community.

Manuscript Categories
This journal accepts manuscripts in the following categories:

  • Research Articles: Original works that provide substantial contributions to the advancement of knowledge in multidisciplinary Islamic studies.

  • Literature Reviews: Critical and comprehensive evaluations of existing literature, highlighting current developments, research gaps, and recommendations for future studies.

Manuscript Preparation
Authors are advised to prepare their manuscripts according to the following guidelines:

1. Title Page
The title page must include:

  • Title: Concise, informative, and reflective of the manuscript's content.

  • Authors: Full name, affiliation, and email address for each author.

  • Abstract: A structured abstract of maximum 250 words containing the research problem, research objectives, research methods, main results, research findings, conclusions, dan The Significance of the Research.

  • Keywords: 3 to 5 keywords that describe the main concepts in the manuscript.

2. Introduction
Clearly describe the background, objectives, and significance of the research. Include the problem statement, a brief literature review, and the research questions or hypotheses.

3. Methods
Explain the methods used in detail to allow for research replication. If referring to existing methods, cite the sources appropriately.

4. Results and Discussion
Present the research findings systematically. Use tables, graphs, or figures to enhance clarity. Discuss the meaning of these findings, compare them with previous research results, and disclose any limitations encountered during the research process.

5. Conclusion
Summarize the main findings and their contribution to the development of knowledge. Provide suggestions for future research without repeating information previously discussed.

6. References
List all sources cited in the manuscript using APA Style format. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all reference data.

Reference Requirements:

  • Minimum Number: Each manuscript must contain at least 25 references.

  • Sources: At least 50% of all references should come from reputable international journals that have undergone peer review.

  • Self-Citation: Self-citations are permitted but should not exceed three references and must be relevant to the current manuscript.

  • Recency: Prioritize references from the past 10 years to ensure the study's currency and relevance.

Manuscript Submission
Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the online system available on the journal's official website: https://jurnal.uinsu.ac.id/index.php/benchmarking/index. Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word and follow the technical instructions provided.

Peer Review Process
All submitted manuscripts will undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to maintain objectivity and publication quality. The identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the evaluation process.

Publication Ethics
This journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. Practices such as plagiarism, data fabrication, and other unethical research conduct are strictly prohibited. Authors must guarantee the originality of their work and provide proper citations for the work of others.

Copyright and Open Access
This journal operates under an open-access policy. Copyright remains with the authors, and published articles are freely accessible to readers.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Template Journal, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

This journal charges the following author fees (Starting from the December 2025 Issue):

- Article Submission: 0.00 (IDR)
- Authors are required to pay an Article Processing Fee as part of the submission process to contribute to review costs.

- Article Processing Fee: 1,500,000 (IDR)

If this paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay an Article Processing Fee to cover publication costs.
