Information For Authors

Authors interested in submitting manuscripts to JIR: Journal Islamitisch en Recht are strongly encouraged to carefully review the About the Journal, Focus and Scope, and Author Guidelines prior to submission. These sections provide essential information regarding the journal’s aims, editorial policies, manuscript preparation standards, and ethical principles.

JIR accepts original scholarly works that have not been previously published or simultaneously submitted to other journals or publishers. Manuscripts should fall within the journal’s scope, particularly in the areas of Islamic law, criminal law, constitutional law, comparative law, socio-legal studies, economic law, and other related legal fields examined from Islamic and positive law perspectives.

All submissions must be prepared in accordance with the journal’s prescribed manuscript template and formatting requirements. Manuscripts that do not comply with the author guidelines, citation style, or structural standards will be subject to desk rejection prior to the peer-review process. This policy is applied to ensure academic quality, consistency, and efficiency in editorial handling.

JIR applies a double-blind peer-review process, in which both authors’ and reviewers’ identities are concealed. Each manuscript is evaluated based on its originality, academic rigor, methodological soundness, clarity of argument, and contribution to legal scholarship. Final publication decisions are made by the Editorial Board based on reviewers’ recommendations.

Authors are required to submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system (OJS). Prior to submission, authors must register with the journal. Registered users may log in and follow the five-step online submission process. All correspondence related to manuscript submission, review, and editorial decisions will be conducted through the OJS platform.

By submitting a manuscript to JIR, authors confirm that their work complies with academic integrity standards, including proper citation practices and avoidance of plagiarism. The journal reserves the right to use plagiarism detection tools as part of its editorial screening process.

JIR is published as an Open Access journal, enabling free and unrestricted access to published articles. Any applicable publication fees or article processing charges, if imposed, will be communicated transparently to authors during the submission process.
