This journal charges the following author fees (Starting from the January 2025 Issue):

- Article Submission: 0.00 (IDR)
- Authors are required to pay an Article Processing Fee as part of the submission process to contribute to review costs.

- Article Publish Fee: 1,500,000 (IDR)

If this paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay an Article Processing Fee to cover publication costs.

Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics

Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam is a scholarly publication presenting research findings in the fields of Education, Management, Islamic Education, Islamic Education Management, and Islamic Guidance and Counseling. Submitted manuscripts must be original and unpublished, either in print or electronically.

The validity of scientific publication ethics applies to all parties involved in the publishing process, including managers, editors, reviewers, partners, readers, and authors. The ethical principles are based on Peraturan Kepala LIPI Nomor 5 Tahun 2014 on Scientific Publication Ethics, which include:

  1. Neutrality – Free from conflicts of interest in the publishing process.
  2. Honesty – Free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P).
  3. Impartiality – No external interference affecting editorial decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Chief Editor

  • Define the journal's name, scope, periodicity, and accreditation requirements.
  • Determine the editorial board members.
  • Establish relationships between the publisher, editors, reviewers, and other parties.
  • Maintain confidentiality of contributors, authors, editors, and reviewers.
  • Enforce copyright and intellectual property rights regulations.
  • Review journal policies and communicate them to all stakeholders.
  • Develop a code of conduct for editors and reviewers.
  • Ensure regular journal publication.
  • Secure funding for journal sustainability.
  • Build networking and marketing strategies.
  • Improve journal quality.
  • Handle legal and licensing matters.

Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

  • Provide comments to help authors convey their ideas effectively.
  • Ensure manuscripts comply with Ejaan Yang Disempurnakan (EYD) or journal language standards.
  • Continuously improve publication quality.
  • Uphold objectivity and freedom of expression.
  • Issue corrections, clarifications, retractions, or apologies if necessary.
  • Ensure that manuscripts do not contain sensitive issues and coordinate with the editorial board on controversial content.
  • Address complaints from all parties involved in the publication process.
  • Promote ethical publication practices among researchers.
  • Avoid biased decision-making influenced by personal opinions, authors, or third parties.
  • Encourage authors to refine their work until it meets publication standards.
  • Format manuscripts according to the journal template.
  • Assist the chief editor in finalizing manuscripts before publication.

Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers (Mitra Bestari)

  • Provide objective and unbiased written feedback on the manuscript's scientific merit and contribution.
  • Evaluate whether the manuscript is clear, complete, relevant, and within the journal's scope.
  • Avoid personal criticism or biased comments.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and refrain from discussing or sharing their contents with unauthorized parties.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Website Administrator

The website administrator is responsible for managing the journal's online platform, including:

  • Setting up and maintaining the journal website.
  • Configuring system options and managing user accounts.
  • Registering editors, reviewers, and authors.
  • Managing journal features.
  • Monitoring statistical reports.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to *Benchmarking* must adhere to the journal's writing guidelines and be submitted via the OJS system. Submitted manuscripts must demonstrate scientific value or novelty aligned with the journal's aims and scope. Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism; therefore, authors are advised to use plagiarism detection software to check for text similarity. The editorial board conducts plagiarism checks on articles using *Plagiarism Checker* software.

Submitted articles undergo an initial review by the editorial team, which evaluates the suitability of the content, focus, and methodology. Subsequently, the article is sent to two reviewers for a double-anonymous peer review. Reviewer comments are then conveyed to the author so that the manuscript can be adjusted to meet the journal's standards. Decisions regarding revised manuscripts are re-evaluated during an editorial board meeting. Finally, the editorial decision reached during the final meeting is communicated to the author.

The editorial team makes decisions based on reviewers' recommendations.

Review Process:

  1. Author submits manuscript
  2. Editorial evaluation (some manuscripts may be rejected or returned before the review process begins)
  3. Double-anonymous peer review process
  4. Editorial decision
  5. Notification to the author

The estimated average total time required is 12 weeks (3 months)

Plagiarism Check

To ensure that submitted and published articles are free from plagiarism, editors use the web-based software Turnitin to check for similarity, applying a quality threshold of 20%. This process is carried out both upon initial submission and at subsequent stages (such as during revision or after amendments based on reviewer feedback).

If an article meets this standard, it proceeds to the next stage (review or publication). Conversely, if it fails to meet the standard, the author is required to make revisions.

In addition to using Turnitin, editors also conduct checks via Google Scholar and other resources. These measures aim to verify that the article is not plagiarized and has not been submitted to or published in another journal (duplicate submission).

 

Plagiarism Policy

Policy on Originality and Plagiarism Prevention

  • Originality Requirement: All submitted manuscripts must be original works and free from any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism.
  • Screening by Authors: Before submission, authors are strongly advised to check the similarity level of their manuscripts using plagiarism detection software.
  • Screening by the Editorial Team: The journal's editorial team will conduct standard plagiarism checks on every manuscript using Turnitin software.
  • Use of Reference Management: Authors are expected to use a reference management system, such as Mendeley or EndNote, to ensure all citations and references are presented accurately and consistently.
  • Sanctions and Follow-up:
  • Immediate Rejection: Manuscripts with a similarity score 30% will be rejected automatically.
  • Requires Revision: Manuscripts with a similarity score of 25% will be returned to the author for an initial revision.
  • Final Threshold: After revision, the similarity score of the manuscript must be reduced to a maximum of 20% to be processed to the next stage.
