Journal of Contemporary Islam and Muslim Societies [JCIMS] is a peer reviewed academic journal, established in 2016 as part of the Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sumatera Utara, Medan. Journal od Contemporary Islam and Muslim Societies [JCIMS] is a leading journal aimed to advance the academic study of contemporary Islamic studies and modern Muslim societies in the Islamic world. The exchange of views on current international issues is focused on local and transnational Islamic studies in textual and contextual forms. In addition, the issues discuss an interdisciplinary focus on Muslim societies and are related to the modern dynamics of Muslim life in the global context. Although JCIMS is not restricted to regional studies, it favors research on Islam and modern Muslim societies that are associated with the Muslim world.
JCIMS has been accredited by The Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, Republic of Indonesia as an academic journal (Decree No. 14/E/KPT/2019).
JCIMS has become a CrossRef Member since the year 2018. Therefore, all articles published by JCIMS will have unique DOI number. JCIMS also has indexed by DOAJ, SINTA, BASE, OCLC WorldCat, Kudos, CiteFactor, Google Scholar, Garuda, Neliti, Indonesia Onesearch, Moraref, IPI, Issuu and Academia.
