AL-MUSYTARAK AL-LAFDZI DAN AT-TADHAD DALAM PERSPEKTIF SEMANTIK ILMU DALALAH

Abstract

This study discusses the phenomena of al-musytarak al-lafdzi (musytarak phrase) and at-tadhad (antonymy) in Arabic, two concepts that are highly relevant in the study of semantics, Quranic exegesis, and classical Arabic linguistics. Al-musytarak al-lafdzi refers to a single word that has more than one different meaning, while at-tadhad refers to two words with opposite meanings. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach with a library research method. This study not only describes the types of musytarak lafdzi with contextual examples, but also examines its relationship with tadhad, particularly in the phenomenon of at-tadhad fi al-musytarak al-lafdzi, which is a situation where a single word has two contradictory meanings depending on the context in which it is used. Through a semantic and dalalah analysis approach, this study shows that a deep understanding of the relationship between musytarak and tadhad is necessary to interpret the meaning of the Quran accurately, as well as to enrich Arabic linguistic studies with a more comprehensive explanation of the dynamics of meaning in words.
