Focus and Scope

Journal of Educational and Islamic Management is a peer-reviewed scientific periodic journal published by the Department of Islamic Education Management, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, North Sumatra State Islamic University, Medan. This journal is dedicated to publishing scientific articles on the study of Islamic Education Management, Education Management, and Islamic Education Studies from various aspects and perspectives. This journal is available in print form with ISSN: 1979-8075, and online with ISSN: 2685-2810. He publishes his articles twice a year, in January-June and July-December. while the scope of this journal is as follows:

HIJRI: Jurnal manajemen Kependidikan dan Keislaman is a peer-reviewed scientific periodical journal published by the Department of Islamic Education Management the Faculty of Tarbiyah Science and Teacher Training, Universitas Islam NegeriSumatera Utara Medan. This journal is dedicated to publish scientific articles in the study of Islamic Education Management, General Education, Management, and Islamic Studies from different aspects and perspectives. This journal is available in print with ISSN: 1979-8075, and online with ISSN: 2685-2810. It publishes its articles twice a year, in May and November.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Manageria: Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam

Papers submitted for publication must conform to the following guidelines:

  • Papers should discuss the themes of Islamic Education Management or Leadership, Pesantren, Madrasa, or Islamic School Management, written either in Indonesian, English or Arabic;
  • Papers must be typed in one-half spaced on A4-paper size;
  • Papers’ length is about 6,000-10,000 words;
  • All submission must include a 150-200 word abstract;
  • Full name(s) of the author(s) must be stated, along with his/her/their institution
  • All submission should be in Open Office, Microsoft Word, RTF, or Word Perfect document file format;
  • Arabic words should be transliterated according to the style of Mc Gill University;
  • Bibliographical reference must be noted in footnote and bibliography according to Chichago Manual style.
  • When a source is cited for the first time, full information is provided: full name(s) of author(s), title of the source in italic, place of publication, publishing company, date of publication, and the precise page that is cited. For the following citations of the same source, list the author’s last name, two or three words of the title, and the specific page number(s). The word ibid. may be used, but op.cit., and loc.cit. are not.

Please consider the following creteria:

  • The title of the article submitted to Manageria: Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam should reflect a specific focus of study, based on researches--be they library or fieldwork researches--and thus the author can have a general statement and sub-title specifically confining the scope of study
  • The article submitted should be based on research--be it library or fieldwork or other kinds of researches
  • The article should present bibliography which entails primary sources--books, manuscripts, interviews, or observation--and updated secondary sources from books or peer reviewed journals
  • The article should contain an argument/thesis/finding which contribute to scholarly discussion in a field of study which should clearly be mentioned and systematically presented in abstract, content, and conclusion
  • The article should use good Indonesia/English/Arabic, or at least can be understood; the author is fully responsible in fixing and editing language; the copy editor of Manageria: Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan Islam is responsible only for minor typos and understandable grammatical errors.
  • The style and format, including the structure of article, footnotes, bibliography, should follow those of Manageria
  • The template of Manageria article in word document format is available for download here.

 NOTE: It is suggested the use of a reference manager at styling the footnote and the bibliography, such as ZoteroMendeley, et cetera.

Publication Ethics

PUBLISHING ETHICS

Journal of Education and Islamic Management is a peer-reviewed scientific periodic journal published by the Department of Islamic Education Management the Faculty of Tarbiyah Science and Teacher Training, North Sumatra State Islamic University, Medan.

This statement of the scientific code of ethics is a statement of the code of ethics of all parties involved in the publication process of this scientific journal, namely the manager, editor, reviewer partners and authors. In essence, the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications upholds three ethical values in publications, namely:

  1. Neutrality, namely free from conflict of interest in managing publications;
  2. Justice, namely giving authorship rights to those entitled to be authors/writers; And
  3. Honesty, namely free from duplication, fabrication, falsification and plagiarism (DF2P) in publications.

Chief Editor's Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Determine the name of the journal, scientific scope, periodicity, and accreditation if necessary.
  1. Determine editor membership.
  2. Define the relationship between publishers, editors, publisher partners and other parties.
  3. Respect matters of a confidential nature, both for contributing researchers, authors/writers, editors and bestari partners.
  4. Implement norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
  5. Review journal policies and convey them to authors, editors, review partners and readers.
  6. Create a code of conduct guide for editors and review partners.
  7. Publish journals regularly.
  8. Ensure the availability of funding sources for the sustainability of journal publication.
  9. Building cooperation and marketing networks.
  10. Improve the quality of the journal.
  11. Prepare permits and other legal aspects.

  Editor's Duties and Responsibilities

  1. 1. The editor provides comments on the author's writing so that readers can understand what the author wants to convey, through comments written on the manuscript and/or discussion facilities on the journal website.
  2. 2. The editor provides comments on the author's writing in accordance with EYD (Enhanced Spelling) language or language that complies with the journal's standards.
  3. 3. The editor strives to continuously improve the quality of publications;
  4. 4. Editors prioritize freedom of opinion objectively,
  5. 5. The editor submits corrections, clarifications, withdrawals and apologies if necessary,
  6. 6. The editor ensures that the author's writing does not involve SARA or anything that could be detrimental to the publisher and coordinates the author's writing with the publisher's chief editor if the writing is a little controversial.
  7. 7. The editor receives, reviews and follows up on complaints from all parties involved in journal publication;
  8. 8. Editors support initiatives to educate researchers about publication ethics,
  9. 9. The editor does not maintain his own opinion, that of the author or third parties which could result in non-objective decisions,
  10. 10. The editor encourages authors/authors to improve their written work until it is suitable for publication.
  11. 11. The editor layouts the manuscript to be published so that it matches the journal template.
  12. 12. The editor assists the editor-in-chief/chief editor in finalizing a collection of manuscripts before they are printed and published, especially in terms of language, format and layout.

Duties and Responsibilities of Bestari Partners

  1. 1. Provide objective and unbiased written feedback regarding the scientific value and contribution of the manuscript to scientific development;
  2. 2. Show whether the manuscript writing is clear, complete and relevant, and whether the manuscript is in accordance with the scope of the journal;
  3. 3. Do not provide personal criticism or comments; And
  4. 4. Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript, by not discussing it with unrelated parties, or disclosing the information contained in the manuscript to other parties.

Website Administrator Duties and Responsibilities

Website Administrator is the person responsible for managing the journal website. Specifically, the scope of duties of a Website Administrator is as follows:

  1. Set up a journal website;
  2. Configure system options and manage user accounts;
  3. Regster editors, reviewers and authors;
  4. Manage journal features;
  5. View report statistics;
