Focus and Scope

Studia Sosia Religia: Journal of Religious Studies, published by the Religious Studies Study Program, Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Studies, State Islamic University of North Sumatra since 2018. This journal contains articles derived from the results of religious studies research in various scopes of study including studies of world religions, history of religion, sociology of religion, phenomenology of religion, psychology of religion, anthropology of religion, religion and politics, religion and contemporary issues, harmony between religious communities, religious moderation, religion and peace, pluralism, multiculturalism and conflict resolution.

Peer Review Process

The research article submitted to this online journal will be peer-reviewed at least by 2 (two) reviewers. The final decision of the acceptance or rejection of the article is made by Editor-in-Chief based on the comments given by the reviewers. Screening of plagiarism will be done by utilizing iThenticate software program. The accepted research articles will be available online following the journal peer-reviewing process.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Publications Ethics

  1. Jurnal Studia Sosia Religia adheres to the prevailing research standards and procedures for investigating publication ethics.
  2. Jurnal Studia Sosia Religia does not allow dual publication (the same material published twice in the peer reviewed literature), or dual submission (the same material simultaneously submitted to more than one journal).
  3. Specifically, Jurnal Studia SosiaReligia does not tolerate plagiarism, data or figure manipulation, knowingly providing incorrect information, copyright infringement, inaccurate author attributions, attempts to inappropriately manipulate the peer review process, failures to declare conflicts of interest, fraud, and libel. This list is not exhaustive - if there is uncertainty of what constitutes such actions, then more resources may be found at the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Council of Science Editors (CSE), or the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).
  4. Jurnal Studia Sosia Religia will rigorously enforce our standards, and follow up on any transgressions. In extreme cases, this may call for individuals to be reported to their institutions and/or for manuscripts to be retracted.
