Hadis-Hadis Fitrah Menurut Ulama dan Relevansinya dalam Pendidikan Islam

Abstract

Fitrah is an important concept in Islamic teachings that relates to human nature, innate potential, religious disposition, and personality development. The hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad provide explanations of fitrah in several contexts; therefore, its meanings need to be examined based on primary hadith sources and the interpretations of Muslim scholars. This study aims to examine the hadiths concerning fitrah, analyze the meanings of fitrah based on the contexts of the hadiths and scholarly explanations, and identify their relevance to Islamic education. This study employs a library research method using primary data sources consisting of major hadith collections and hadith commentaries, as well as secondary sources discussing the concept of fitrah and Islamic education. The data were analyzed descriptively and interpretively to identify the meanings and implications of the hadiths concerning fitrah and their relevance to Islamic education. The findings indicate that fitrah in the hadiths carries several meanings, particularly purity, Islam, monotheism, religion, and Sunnah. The hadith stating that every child is born in a state of fitrah indicates an innate religious potential within human beings from birth, while the hadith concerning the five aspects of fitrah refers to Sunnah practices related to cleanliness and the proper conduct of a Muslim. These meanings are highly relevant to Islamic education because the development and actualization of students' fitrah are influenced by the environments of family, madrasah, and society. Therefore, Islamic education plays an important role in preserving, guiding, and developing students' innate potential so that it grows in accordance with Islamic values.
