Abstract
The development of democracy in Indonesia after the reform era has brought major changes to the political life of society. Technological advances and the presence of digital media have also influenced the way young people, especially Generation Z, understand and participate in political activities. Generation Z is known as a generation that is closely connected to the internet and social media, making it easier for them to obtain information, express opinions, and follow current political issues. This study aims to determine the perspective of Generation Z toward political participation in the digital era within the dynamics of Indonesia’s post-reform democracy. The research method used is a literature study with a qualitative approach through various sources such as books, journals, and scientific articles related to democracy and youth political participation. The results show that digital media provides broad opportunities for Generation Z to engage in political activities, both through discussions on social media, digital campaigns, and online expression of aspirations. On the other hand, these developments also create challenges such as the spread of false information, sharp political differences, and the low interest of some young people in politics. Therefore, political understanding and digital literacy are needed so that Generation Z can participate wisely and support the development of a healthier and more democratic Indonesian democracy.
