Abstract

The problem will be discussed in this research. radical extreme dimensions in the Nahdhatul Ulama mass organization because radical issues are a special topic of discussion in understanding the nation's current problems. In many ways, the perception of extremism and radicalism itself remains difficult to comprehend, but it must be resolved.This is due to the emergence of symptoms of the roots of radicalism and terrorism as the common enemy of Muslims throughout the world, including Indonesia. According to the author, this is one of the non-negotiable reasons that mass organizations that have been considered moderate, such as NU, have the ability to ward off the radicalism that is developing in society. From the research results, it was found that Pancasila was the best agreement in accordance with Islamic values, so there was no need to find a replacement. Second, regarding jihad, NU leaders discussed jihad with various meanings, the point of which is that jihad is not just war or suicide bombings. Finally, regarding tolerance, NU leaders believe that Muslims are very tolerant and open.
