ANALISIS KORELASI ANTARA SENSE OF SCHOOL BELONGING DENGAN MOTIVASI AKADEMIK SISWA SEKOLAH MENENGAH ATAS
Abstract
Sekolah merupakan ruang bertumbuh untuk siswa, maka dari itu penting untuk menanamkan rasa kepemilikan terhadap sekolah yang disebut dengan sense of school belonging. Saat siswa mempunyai rasa memiliki terhadap sekolah, maka akan termotivasi secara akademik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara sense of school belonging dengan motivasi akademik siswa SMA. Penelitian ini berjumlah 285 partisipan yang merupakan siswa kelas X dan XI berusia 14 – 17 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasional. Alat ukut yang digunakan di dalam penelitian ini adalah Psychological membership scale yang dikembangkan oleh Goodenow untuk mengukur sense of school belonging dan academic motivation scale yang dikembangkan oleh Vallerand untuk mengukur motivasi akademik. Hasil uji korelasi sperman menunjukan nilai r = 0.533 dan signifikasi p = 0.000 < 0.05. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara sense of school belonging dengan motivasi akademik siswa SMA.
