Pengaruh Intensitas Cahaya Matahari Dan Air Terhadap Laju Transpirasi Pada Tumbuhan

Abstract


This study aims to explore how sunlight intensity and water availability influence the transpiration rate in Rhoeo discolor plants. The research method implemented is a basic experiment with two different treatments: one group of plants is exposed to sunlight, while the other group is kept in a dark environment inside a closed cardboard box. Both groups received the same quantity of water, and their weights were measured before and after the treatment to assess weight changes due to transpiration. The factors observed included the initial weight of the plants, their final weight, the weight of water vapor on the covering plastic, and the percentage of water loss. The findings indicate that the plants exposed to sunlight experienced a higher transpiration rate compared to those in the dark. The percentage of water loss in the sunlight treatment reached 10. 8% with a water vapor weight of 3. 4 grams, whereas the dark treatment showed only a 5. 1% water loss with a vapor weight of 0. 7 grams. Based on these results, it can be concluded that sunlight intensity and water availability significantly affect the transpiration rate in Rhoeo discolor plants.
